Orthopedic Surgeon Training & Experience

Dr. Daines is board certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic surgeons. He is fellowship trained in shoulder surgery and specializes in minimally invasive shoulder surgery. He is skilled in the operative and non operative management of all shoulder conditions including rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability, shoulder replacement and trauma. Dr. Daines also has special interest in all inside arthroscopic rotator cuff repair using a knotless technique, which allows for more rapid rehab and less scarring.

Shoulder & Elbow Specialist

Dr. Daines completed a shoulder fellowship in August 2009 at Oxford University in England funded by the prestigious Girdlestone Scholarship. Prior to that he graduated from the University of Utah followed by medical school at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Specializing in Minimally Invasive Shoulder Surgery Procedures

Specializing in the field of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Daines is prepared to treat a wide range of injuries to the musculoskeletal system, which includes the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons, in either a non-surgical or surgical manner, resorting to surgery when all other treatment methods have been exhausted or ruled out. Additionally, Dr. Daines is trained to diagnose a range of musculoskeletal conditions, such as fractures or sprains.

Minimally invasive shoulder surgery procedures require only a small incision or the insertion of an instrument into a shoulder area. This involves minimal damage of body tissue. This technique allows patients to optimally recover from surgery, resulting in better patient outcomes and faster recovery to their normal daily activities.

Family Heritage

Dr. Daines has long roots in the Treasure Valley, following in the footsteps of his father Joseph G. (Pete) Daines, MD and Joseph G. Daines, MD, his grandfather, in practicing orthopedics here.
